Affiliate Disclosure
BestByNeed is an independent product research and recommendation website. Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you make a qualifying purchase after following one of those links.
The short explanation
Affiliate links help fund the work behind BestByNeed.
Researching products, organizing specifications, maintaining comparison data, building the BestByNeed application and updating published guides all require time and resources. Affiliate commissions are one way the site can support that work without charging readers to access our articles and recommendations.
When you click a qualifying affiliate link, the retailer may record that BestByNeed referred the visit. If an eligible purchase is completed within the retailer’s attribution period, BestByNeed may receive a commission.
The final price is determined by the retailer. We do not add a separate BestByNeed fee to your order, and we do not receive your payment information or process the transaction.
The presence or size of an affiliate commission is not a product-ranking criterion.
BestByNeed commercial independence principle
Amazon Associates
Our relationship with Amazon.
BestByNeed participates in the Amazon Associates program and may link to products sold on Amazon.com. When a qualifying purchase is attributed to one of our Amazon affiliate links, BestByNeed may receive advertising fees or commission income.
BestByNeed is independent
Amazon does not own, operate, sponsor or endorse BestByNeed. We are responsible for our own editorial content, product criteria and published recommendations.
Amazon controls the transaction
Product prices, availability, seller details, delivery, returns, warranties and payment processing are governed by Amazon and the applicable seller, not by BestByNeed.
Information can change
A price, discount, product version or availability status may change after a BestByNeed page is published. Always verify the final product and order details on Amazon before purchasing.
Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
How we keep commercial relationships separate from recommendations.
Affiliate monetization and product evaluation serve different purposes. Affiliate links may help fund BestByNeed, but the recommendation process is designed around product fit, supporting information and meaningful trade-offs.
Commission is not a scoring input
Commission rate, expected conversion and affiliate revenue are not intended to influence Match Score, Product Quality Score or Evidence Confidence.
Products can be criticized or excluded
The existence of an affiliate link does not guarantee a positive review, inclusion in a guide or a high position in a recommendation.
Important limitations stay visible
Subscription costs, compatibility limits, maintenance demands and other material drawbacks should not be hidden simply because a product can generate commission.
The content should remain useful without a purchase
A guide should help readers understand the buying decision even when they do not click an affiliate link or buy a recommended product.
Disclosure placement
This page is not the only place you should see a disclosure.
A link to a general disclosure page can provide useful detail, but it should not be the reader’s only notice that a recommendation contains affiliate links.
On articles, comparisons, product cards and other monetized content, BestByNeed aims to place a short, understandable disclosure near the beginning of the content or close to the relevant affiliate links. The wording may vary by layout, but it should make the financial relationship clear without requiring a reader to search for it.
- Affiliate disclosures should be noticeable and written in plain language.
- A disclosure should not be hidden only in the footer, terms page or a tooltip.
- Labels such as “affiliate link” or a direct commission explanation are preferred over vague wording.
- Video and social content may require a disclosure within the post or presentation itself.
Other affiliate programs
Some links may lead to retailers other than Amazon.
BestByNeed may participate in additional affiliate programs or use tracked links from other retailers, product manufacturers or affiliate networks. If one of those relationships could affect how a reader evaluates a recommendation, it should be disclosed clearly.
Ordinary links
Not every external link is an affiliate link. We may link to manuals, manufacturer documentation, certification records, studies or other sources without receiving compensation.
Affiliate links
These links may generate a commission when a qualifying action or purchase is attributed to BestByNeed. A nearby disclosure should identify the commercial connection.
Sponsored content
If BestByNeed accepts payment to create or place content, the page should be labeled clearly as sponsored, paid or produced with a commercial partner. It should not be presented as an independent editorial ranking.
Free or loaned products
If a manufacturer or retailer provides a product free of charge, at a discount or on loan for evaluation, that material connection should be disclosed on the relevant page.
Pricing and product information
Retail information should be treated as time-sensitive.
BestByNeed may display product images, titles, availability or price information received from retailers and affiliate systems. That information can change quickly and may differ by seller, product variant, coupon eligibility, delivery location or account status.
When current price information is unavailable, incomplete or no longer fresh enough, we prefer a neutral call to action such as “Check current price” rather than presenting an old value as current.
Before purchasing, confirm that the retailer page shows the intended model, size, color, bundle, compatibility, warranty and total checkout price.
Tracking and privacy
Affiliate attribution may involve tracking technology.
When a reader follows an affiliate link, the destination retailer or affiliate network may use link parameters, cookies or similar technologies to attribute a qualifying purchase or action to BestByNeed.
BestByNeed does not receive the payment card details you submit to a retailer. The retailer’s own privacy policy and terms govern the information it collects after you leave this website.
